The Royal Photographic Society's 153rd International Print Competition
The Royal photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world, having been staged almost every year since the founding of The Society in 1853. During its long history it has built up a worldwide reputation for its exciting breadth of genres and styles, from the artistic to documentary, from portraiture to natural history. Innovative, cutting edge work can be seen alongside traditional prints, and this is what makes this exhibition so unique within the photographic world.
Society Medals and Allen & Overy Awards:
• 1 Gold Society Medal and a prize of £2,000
• 2 Silver Society Medals and prizes of £1,000 each
• 3 Bronze Society Medals and prizes of £500 each
• RPS/Allen & Overy International Award of £750 on the theme ‘Cities of the World’
• RPS/Allen & Overy International Award of £750 on the theme ‘Industry and Commerce’
• Under 25 - Gold Society Medal and a prize of an Olympus PEN camera
Up to 125 prints will be selected for the Exhibition and all selected images will be reproduced in a full colour catalogue which all entrants will receive a copy. The Exhibition will tour from July 2010 for approximately 1 year and exhibitors will have the opportunity to sell copies of their prints.
Selection dates areThursday 29th and Friday 30 April 2010 and the Awards will be presented during the Opening Reception on Wednesday 14 July 2010, at Allen & Overy’s prestigious building at Bishops Square, London.
