Perception of a paradox

Frozen

Swedish born photographer, Christina Johannesson will present her work, frozen, at the Swedish Embassy Reception Suite, London W1, 29 September - 2 October 2011. The exhibition is open 11 am - 7 pm daily and admission is free.

The stunning images of ice used in the exhibition will be for sale in order to raise awareness and funds for the Marine Conservation Society.

But frozen is so much more than pictures of ice as Christina explains:

"The close-up images of ice in frozen are an example of how natural harmony creates its own abstracts. They came about after an emotional encounter I had with nature by the seashore. The moment stayed with me and from this meeting frozen evolved. With frozen I am trying to re-create that moment and the journey that followed.

frozen is a journey of a paradox - just like life itself. The lighting, the sounds, the words and images come together to create this. How it is perceived and experienced by somebody else will be their vision, not mine. What we see with the eyes is not necessarily what we see with the mind."
