100 Faces of London
100 Faces of London, a portrait project by photographer Milan Svanderlik, is on display in The Crypt Gallery at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, for a period of 5 weeks from 11 June 2012, to coincide with the Cultural Olympiad.
100 faces of London features portraits of one hundred Londoners, reflecting the huge diversity of people who make up this city. All the participants were photographed within a twelve-month period, mostly during 2010. The youngest sitter was 20 years old and the oldest 100. Every effort was made to embrace a broad range of ethnic backgrounds.
In addition to the prints on display at the exhibition, a large-format ‘Heritage Book’ has been produced, comprising high-quality prints of all 100 portraits, printed by the photographer. It will be on display in the main entrance foyer to the gallery throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition is sponsored by Epson and the images were printed on an an Epson Stylus Pro 3880, using advanced ink-jet technology and UltraChome K3 inks with Vivid Magenta. Nick White, Epson Pro Graphics manager commented: “Epson is committed to the Fine Art sector and values artistic talent. We are therefore delighted to support the 100 Faces of London exhibition which is a diverse, cultural and interesting project.”
