The facts:
One of the most celebrated and renowned photographers of the twentieth century. Cecil Beaton launched his career as a portrait photographer by landing a contract with Vogue magazine of whom he worked for over thirty years. Beaton’s interest in glamour and high society landed him the court photographer for the Royal Family in 1937. During the Second World War he devoted his time to photographing the home front and his image of a three year old girl, Eileen Dunne, has become an iconic image.
