Do you have what it takes to be the Professional Photographer of the Year 2009? It’s a prestigious title to hold and this year the Professional Photographer awards will be judged by an equally prestigious panel of judges along with the editor of Professional Photographer magazine, Grant Scott.
We’re also introducing new categories appropriate to the world you work in. There are a lot of photography competitions out there at the moment, but only one will give you the title of Professional Photographer of the Year. So don’t miss out. You know it makes sense.
Last Year's Winners
The Judges
Geoff Waring, creative director
One-time art director of both UK and Australian Vogue and now consultant creative director at Publicis Blueprint and Cath Kidston, Geoff’s love of photography, considered opinions and wealth of experience will ensure that every image is given full consideration.
Sue Steward, writer & journalist
A recent judge of the Sony World Photo awards and past judge of the Schweppes Portrait awards, Sue’s awareness of the constantly changing world of international contemporary photography will be at its sharpest when judging our 2009 awards.
Ed Webster, photographic director
As photographic director at 4 Creative, advertising arm of Channel 4, Ed commissions all photography for print related material. With his hand firmly on the pulse of the photographic industry he’s the man others turn to for advice, tips and photographers.
Caroline Metcalfe, photographic director
Having worked as a photo editor at the FT and now as photographic director at Condé Nast Traveller, Caroline is no stranger to both seeing and commissioning some of the world’s greatest photographers and editing their images. Two talents which she will bring to our judging.

Peter Rear, CEO
Peter set up his first company at the age of 22, which became one of the busiest wedding & event photography studios in London. Two years ago he set up PR Imaging International, which has grown to be one of the major players in the industry. He may be the youngest but he knows his stuff.
