Annie Leibovitz: close up

Annie Leibovitz, one of the most iconic photographers of all time, was hand-picked by French fashion house Louis Vuitton to appear in its spring/summer campaign. In an unusual move, Leibovitz  used the fee she got paid to hire Mikhail Baryshnikov, a legendary ballet dancer and a long-term friend, to appear alongside her in the shoot. Given that it is widely reported that she has some $24million of debt, this comes as some surprise to many of her fans.

With the headline 'The journey of a star, captured in a flash', Louis Vuitton wanted to get under the skin of Leibovitz, the world's highest paid photographer and capture this within its campaign imagery.
