The Beatles Hidden Gallery
Following the launch of The Beatles Hidden Gallery we are now pleased to officially reveal Paul Berriff as the photographer behind these fantastic and unseen images of The Beatles.
Paul Berriff is recognized as one of the UKs leading film documentary makers having won international critical acclaim for his varied work resulting in over 17 awards including a British Academy Award (BAFTA). Having started his career as a newspaper photographer in 1963 Paul has captured many unique and iconic images and events in photograph and film.
Stills photography has always been Pauls passion and he has photographed many musical artists including The Stones, Queen, The Searchers, The Hollies and Gerry and the Pacemakers and notables such as Baroness Thatcher, Sir Francis Chichester and Prince Charles.
Perhaps his greatest work is still unseen by the public. Pauls fantastic career started alongside The Beatles, the most popular music band of all time. Fortunately for Beatles fans everywhere Paul was there to capture them and the moment on film, forever.
Paul says I built a good rapport with them, especially Paul McCartney. He always came to say hello when he saw me. At that time (1964) they (The Beatles) were just coming on stream, they did value their media image, so they were happy to pose for you. They did all kinds of crazy things, like playing at trains (One of Pauls unique images).
Paul continues "some they would just pose for me but a lot I would just take off the cuff so to speak, when they were just acting about."
These unique images are being made available for sale as very limited editions via The Beatles Hidden Gallery but will also feature on display following a launch event to be held on the 27th April at a gallery in London.
