November Issue

November Cover

We have another interesting and varied issue this month, with a lot going on. It's great to see readers' images back in the magazine after a few months’ break, and we have some amazing pictures that you’ve taken. More readers’ pictures appear in the Professional Photographer of the Year competition, highlighting some of our favourites and those of our sponsors. Middlebrook gives us all a bit of a shock in his column this month, making a huge, life-changing decision about what he's up to next. Poop... yes, poop in the form of an Insider piece written by baby photography specialist Vicki Huckle makes interesting reading due to the trials and tribulations she faced, even calling herself the worst kind of Weekend Warrior! Talking of Weekend Warriors, due to the huge response we had to Mick Cookson’s feature on The Undercutters, I thought it important to give the WWs a chance to fight back.

Next on the hit list was this thing called convergence. I am sure you have heard of it. This again has got a few people talking, so I asked a professional photographer about his thoughts and whether it really was that much of a game changer for the average working pro out there. Let me know what you think after reading it. In terms of gear we take a first look at Nikon’s 1 series, as well as getting a working pro to test its latest 40mm macro lens for DX bodies, asking if this really could be a cost-effective option if FX lenses are just too expensive. Well, I've scratched the surface. Have a good look around this month's issue. I hope you enjoy it and find something inside that resonates with you.

See you next month.

  1. I would like to say a big thank you for publishing my photo of the orange hot rod in the Portfolio section of this issue. It was a pleasant surprise. :)

  3. Glad to have something positive to say about the new PP.
Great cover image and nice mix of articles. Hope the progress continues. Middlebrook, who I previously thought of as dull, is doing something that is interesting and crazy which makes his articles a whole lot more entertaining.

  4. Thank you for publishing one of my photos! It's seriously been a dream of mine to have a photo published in a magazine! However, I live in the USA and I'm not sure where I can buy the magazine or if I have to order it online. The Barnes & Nobles doesn't carry your magazine anymore :( Just wondering if anyone knew about that, thank you! :)
