Different countries have very different traditions and customs for their weddings, so photographing appropriately can be a challenge. If you want to brush up on your Asian wedding photography then why not take part in a tailored workshop?

The Asian Wedding Photography Workshop is taking place at Calumet Manchester on 2 November 2012 and will be run by Monir Ali and Ekram Haque.

Monir Ali will talk you through the mysteries of events from the cultural to the religious, and shows the joys, and the challenges of photographing an Asian wedding.

The Asian Wedding Photography workshop offers both new and established photographers a range of skills, tips and techniques that make sure they are equipped to photograph and document the spectacle of Asian weddings.

The workshop will cover:
• What is so special about Asian Weddings?
• The difference between Asian weddings and European weddings
• How to plan for an Asian wedding
• How to plan for a multiple day wedding
• The client expectations
• Best shooting style
• All ‘Asian’ weddings are the same?
• Get inspired
• The Business of Asian Weddings (how to market, sell, and consultations, contracts)

Monir Ali LBIPP, is an Asian Wedding specialist, who has been documenting Asian weddings for more than seven years, and has shot over 500 weddings across the UK, Europe and USA. He shares his experiences, techniques and approach of today’s Asian weddings. The seminar will delve into the rich culture, heritage and diversity that make up the inspiring and glamorous wedding sector.

He will also discuss the different religious and cultural aspects of weddings that make up this sector, as well as how to plan an Asian wedding shoot, the pitfalls and pleasures of shooting documentary style and the beauty of the portrait sessions.

His formal training in photography comes from studying photography at London Institute, and Southampton Solent University, and has been taught by some of the greats of modern photography including Martin Parr and Dela Grace.

He will be joined By Dr. Ekram Haque, a lecturer in forensic photography, and has been shooting Asian Weddings through Suhaag Photography for more than 10 years.

The Workshop is on 2 November 2012, Calumet Manchester, Unit 4, Downing St Ind. Estate, Manchester, M12 6HH.
