If you could only take one single photo, what would it be? It's a difficult question for a photographer to answer, but one that One Memento is asking nonetheless
One Memento, which is now available on the AppStore, is a new photography experiment designed to capture 250,000 single moments. Participants download a one-shot digital camera from the App Store, giving them one chance to take a single photo for the experiment.
It has been reported that every day 1.3 Million images are uploaded to Instagram, 3 million to Flickr and 250 million to Facebook. One Memento producers Robot Corp and rehabstudio said that they think people take so many photos, from anything to everything and each mundane meal in between, that it’s like we’ve forgotten the photograph’s ability to create and keep memories.
One Memento allows its users to take and share a single photograph, just once, and then stores it forever. Once shared, the user’s ‘One Memento’ can’t be altered. And it can’t be deleted, forcing users to think before they shoot and share.
To get started, users download their one-shot digital camera and login with Facebook or Twitter. They then shoot, share, filter and comment on their one photo. With each photo is assigned a unique number, allowing users to easily find their ‘One Memento’.
The app is available to purchase today from the Apple AppStore.
