New Profoto RFi softboxes
The softbox is one of the most popular light shaping tools for photographers, but aren’t they all the same? Not at all, Profoto tells us as they launch their new range of RFi softboxes.
There are softboxes and then there are softboxes, claim Profoto, and their new RFi range aims to accentuate the difference between Profoto’s high-quality products and all the other options out there. RFi softboxes have a deeper shape that directs the light forward rather than spreading it to the sides, Profoto claim, and the recessed front, which is used for mounting the optional Softgrid, minimises stray light.
All RFi softboxes have a highly reflective silver interior that gives a higher output and a crispy character, and the light is diffused through not one but two diffusers, thereby creating a much softer and even light spread.
Available in 12 sizes and four models: rectangular, square, octagonal and strip, RFi softboxes are compatible with no less than 26 different flash brands including speedlights.
Finally, the RFi softboxes are built to last; every single unit is hand-sewn with heat resistant, high quality fabrics, and all seam lines, edges and corner pockets are reinforced to guarantee a long and trouble-free lifetime.
