Lomography launches MUBI Lomokino camera

Lomography has teamed up with movie platform MUBI to release the very first clone of the LomoKino – the first analogue Movie Maker using 35 mm film.

Every camera comes with a free one month MUBI subscription and a LomoKino Movie by Palme D’Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

The Lomokino team said: "To become a true LomoMovie director, just simply wind the crank of the magic box to capture 144 shots on one roll of 35 mm film - which makes 36 to 48 seconds of LomoMovie. You can use any kind of 35 mm film for different effects: Slide film, colour negative, redscale or B/W. After developing the film, spool it into the specially developed LomoKinoScope and watch your Lomographs moving over and over again."

Every LomoKino MUBI Edition package comes with a scene of “Ashes”, a LomoMovie made by Apichatpong Weerasethakul whose film “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives” won the Palme D’Or in 2010. You will find a part of his LomoMovie spooled into the LomoKino Scope. With every LomoKino MUBI Edition package you receive a free one month MUBI subscription to stream all their independent, international and classic movies. MUBI will also host a Lomo Garage on their website where you can upload your very own LomoMovies.
