PP columnist Martin Middlebrook launches E-Zine
Photojournalist and PP Columnist Martin Middlebrook has just launched his new E-Zine, available online as a downloadable PDF. The 16-page E-Zine contains information on the realities of working in a conflict zones, compositional discussion and useful techniques for problem solving in arduous conditions.
Martin says: “I have written many articles over the past few years, on all manner of topics, and they always open my own mind as to the value of images, the thought process that takes place when any of us take our cameras out and grab a few shots. In putting everything down in words and images it has always better informed the future of my own work.”
He adds: “Photojournalism is a crazy journey, trying to find photographic purity when the odds are against you. It’s not like any other genre, you don’t have time to maximise the shot, you don’t have control over your subject, you don’t have the opportunity to choose the best light. You can’t spend hours in a studio getting everything ‘just right’, you don’t have the pleasure and the leisure to wait until the sun is dripping evening honey upon your subject. You have just enough time to get your shot and get out. So in all of this I have taught myself many techniques over the years, from people skills to technical capabilities, which enable me to maximise quality in the minimum of time. My E-Zine sets out to share some of these ideas and techniques with readers, plus many more things that I hope they will love.”
Martin Middlebrook’s E-Zine is available from his website, and costs £3.50 per issue.
