First look new Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens

Our Art Editor, Rebecca Stead, has had a first look at the new Olympus 75mm lens on the new OMD.

Just as sleek-looking as the OMD, the new Olympus 75mm f/1.8 Prime Portrait lens has arrived. Being given the camera I was surprised at how heavy it was, but the 75mm lens comes within a full metal housing. It feels durable, built to last, which I am sure is something thing that every photographer wants.
I found that the lens was very quiet and quick to focus and shot great wide-aperture portraits. It would be interesting to see what else the lens can cope with, other than portrait shots; according to the people at Olympus, the 75mm is also ideal for high-speed indoor sports and stage shooting in low light.
