Get ready for PPOTY 2012

The overall PPOTY 2011 winner, Jericho Soh, with PP group editor Adam Score

It’s that time of the year again: we’re starting to plan our next Professional Photographer Of The Year competition, PPOTY 2012, and there’s still time to have a say in the categories we set for the upcoming awards.

Last year was our most successful PPOTY year with over 6,000 images and participants from nearly 40 different countries, and we’re hoping this year’s competition will be even bigger.

We’ve already jotted down our own thoughts on the categories we’d like to see for the next awards. If you have any other ideas, feel free to leave a comment!

1. Movie Short
2. Black & White
3. In The Studio
4. Hasselblad
5. Retro
6. Weddings
7. 50mm
8. Street Photography
9. News
10. Location Flash
11. Travel Photography
12. Fashion and Beauty
13. Portfolio of Three

Details on how to take part in the competition will appear soon, online and in the magazine.

  3. Can you split The Weddings into two 'Creative' and 'Reportage'
Also bit more unusual but can you jump ahead 1year !!!!
By the time you get the award it is already last years. This would mean that when this years winner is announced in 2013 they will become the 2013 winner giving a much longer shelf life. David
