Brighton Photo Biennial 2012
The Photographers’ Gallery has announced the dates for the fifth edition of the Brighton Photo Biennial.
The event encourages international and emerging photographers to come to Brighton for free exhibitions, new commissions, events and interventions.
Including work by Edmund Clark, Omer Fast, Julian Germain, Jason Larkin, Trevor Paglen, Corinne Silva, Thomson and Craighead and more, Brighton Photo Biennial 2012 (BPB12) will examine a wide range of photographic practices, collectively reflecting on ‘The Politics of Space’.
BPB12 looks at how space is constructed, controlled and contested, how photography is implicated in these processes and the tensions and possibilities this dialogue involves.
BPB12 says that at its core is a concern with the possibilities of photography as both a tool and a process: a means of understanding the world, and an active force in shaping it.
The event will run from 6 October – 4 November 2012.
