Professional Photographer's tip week: Exhibiting, tip 2

Professional Photographer exhibition 2

Our second tip in the exhibition themed week is all about getting to know people.

Getting to know important people such as printers, museum reps, gallery owners and art suppliers is essential when looking to exhibit your photography.

The initial printing and framing of your images could prove to be very costly and so forming a partnership with a relevant company can be a great way to help cut the cost. In return for some, with any luck, discount prices, you can promote their business at your exhibition. This is a great way of forming a solid partnership for any future exhibitions or events you may want to do.

As for museums, it’s a good idea to call a few different places and ask them for advice on how they would showcase your work. Some museums may have a particular function room that could be appropriate, or they could give you a new angle on how your work could be presented.

Tell us below about your experiences with finding partnerships or ways you've been given a helping hand where exhibitions are concerned.
