Last month Professional Photographer asked you to take part in an online survey about the magazine. The team here would like to extend a huge thank you to the many hundreds or responses received. Your comments (and we read every last one), both good and bad, are an invaluable source and assist us in moving things forward. We thought you may be keen to know a little about the general concensus of your responses:

- Whilst Apple Macs are regularly raved about, they surprisingly do not make up the majority of the platforms our readers use – a staggering 72% of you work on PCs.
- Less surprisingly 95% of our readers shoot with either Canon or Nikon. Canon scrape by in taking the biggest chunk, but it’s a close call. Other specialist digital medium format brands such as Hasselblad and Mamiya make a smaller statistical dent, but maintain a strong following.
- Support (not just for your camera) is important to many – with over half of you being members of professional bodies.
- Over 80% of Professional Photographer readers are male, with less then 20% a female audience.
- Over 70% of you make some form of income from photography.
- Finally, most of you shoot social events or weddings, but there’s a whole range of specialisms that make up the full breadth of our readership.
